Work is sucking hugely at the moment. After our TrollBitch boss left, things seemed to be settling down, but lately, Mini Troll Bitch is back to her old tricks, which she got away with under TB. Her attitude is sucking the morale out of everyone. It gets reported to our senior manager, but nothing happens to change it. She just shuts up for a while until she thinks everyone has forgotten.
I'm also fed up with the way management expect us to be flexible, but refuses to return the favour. I've changed my hours, my days, and my shifts, so many times these last few months, and the management wouldn't even give me a day for a hospital appointment. Under local government employment rules, as a nearly full time employee, i.e 30 hours or more. I am supposed to be given time for hospital appointments, on top of set days off. I've had to change my day off, even though they already owe me 3 hours from about 4 weeks ago. With the hours they are supposed to allow me, plus the hours they owe me, I could have had the day and still kept my day off. It's an eye clinic appoinment, so you can guarantee I will be stuck in the hospital for most of the day.
I'm trying not to get too fed up, because at least I have a job, when many of my adult social care colleagues do not, with so many day centres and residential homes closing. But it's hard especially when mini TB has people in tears, and all these are changes are being forced through without any due consideration for the people using the service, or those working in it.
